Want more fun in your life?

One day, I ran into a friend who was going to a meeting – a Toastmasters meeting.  She invited me and I decided to go the next week.  I remember laughing more during that hour than I had in a long time.

Fun!  To me – that’s what Toastmasters is about – FUN!  It’s a time to get together for an hour each week and laugh with old and new friends.

Although toastmasters is an International Organization, each club has it’s own “personality.”  Here in Moab, it’s very casual.  Members of different ages get together and learn speaking and leadership skills in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. 

My favorite time during the meeting is the “table topics.” It’s an opportunity for members to learn how to think on their feet.  Members write any word or topic on a slip of paper, and then volunteer draws one out of a can.  They get to spontaneously talk for 1-2 minutes on that word or topic.  These “table topics” can be very funny.
